How's it going everyone? Girlfriend and I will be in north Italy on the 25th of May and it'd be a crime to be so close without climbing, so we were hoping that someone could point us in the right direction. We'd be wanting to climb either Via delle Guide or Via Miriam. We won't be able to fit a rope or any gear in our packs because we'll be traveling light (we'll have shoes/harness maybe) so I was hoping that someone here is close by and could take us up the routes or knew of a guide that would be good to get it done. There's a guide service office located in the center of Cortina in the pedestrian area, near the church across from the Cooperativa.

You might also just hook up with someone at the hut up there, though having two folks makes that tougher. We guided an American in your situation on the Miriam once upon a time.

Our last trip over we managed to get a 60-meter rope, draws, harness, shoes and helmets in our single carry-on for a 3-week trip, using this bag: ebags You might look at what/how you're packing and be able to pull off the same trick. If you're competent at the grade, the Miriam could be climbed with a very small and light rack, using wires, hexes, and a few small cams. We bought new superlight draws, slings and biners which really helped out with volume and weight. The big question is probably if you need double ropes to rap off Torre Grande. I seem to remember yes, but its been awhile, and the initial natural rap anchor going down the central chimney failed, if I remember correctly. That having been replaced, the others may have been updated.
