Hi I am a Iranian monutaneer & rock climber. I want to come to see grand canyon and climb too. I need some one guide me also a partner for doing that. So,I would be grateful if some one guide Me about Grand canyon. Sepideh
Hi Sepideh I'm not sure about the guiding permits required for the grand canyon if you plan on going with a outfitter . I would check with outdooradventuesaz.com they would know. If you are seeking a climbing parttnrr I know there are several people around flagstaff that know the area well. Best of luck the area is beautiful . I've done a few . Oneill butte and sinking ship are easy half day trips from the south rim. Mt Hayden has great climbs and is accessed from the north rim, it's a bit of a knarly approach not long but you go through some nasty brush . If you are looking at Zoroaster I'd take it seriously and go with someone who has done it before .
I don't know if anyone has permits to guide climbs in GCNP, but if anyone does, it is probably Chris Tatum & crew at the Flagstaff Climbing Center. Check them out here: flagstaffclimbing.com
Good luck. Approaches in the Grand Canyon can be pretty rough, but offers some beautiful summits. Enjoy!
