Description

The crux comes right away. The groove you fight up IS gruesome. If you can figure it out, you'll be warmed up for the steep and easier (but sustained) climbing above. Don't worry if the start stops you, you can avoid the crux on the left and move back to the 2nd bolt. This brings the overall difficulty down into the 10 range.

Location

This route is just left of Winter Warmer.

Protection

11 bolts, 3 bolt anchor with hooks.

Don't know where the name Pass the Basalt came from. But I am glad that someone has a taste for obscure routes. 12a sounds OK.
