Groove Rock aka Leap of Faith Area Rock Climbing
BETA PHOTO: Groove Rock (Leap of Faith).
The Groove Rock aka Leap of Faith Wall has three sport climbs on it. The wall is named after the middle route which has an interesting friction move at the top.
The elegant dome just south of Penis Rock. Super Slab is just SW of this.
Eds. This is a combination of two entries to avoid duplication within the database.
Just past the Painted Wall on your left, the land opens up a bit and there's a left hand turn. You will be sorely tempted every time to take this. However, it's not this opening in the rocks you want. It's the next one. Take the next left and drive up almost to the base of Leap of Faith Wall. The Slab Wall will be on your right and Quinessential Pinnacle is to you left (just out of sight over a rise). Leap of Faith Wall is also known as the Water Streak Area and Groove Rock.
You can drive right up to this rock from either Super Slab or Penis Rock.

Do a short boulder problem to easy slab and follow 4 bolts. The first bolt is about 20' up. Some real friction climbing at the very top. Very good rock....[more] Browse More Classics in CO

This is "Groove Rock" in the Cowen guide. One of the best rocks at Hartmans.

I remember the first time we top roped what you guys are calling "Dancin' Fool", with Scotty Gilbert, John Pearson, Tom Pulaski, me and Jon Ake. It was virgin, lichen covered territory. Between the lichen and the non sticky shoes, that thing was intimidating.

In the beta photo, "In The Groove" is also known as Baby's Butt Crack. It's hard, not sure of the rating but close to 5.11.
