I have been shopping and trying any screws I can get my hands on to decide which screw set up I like the most.
On a trip to Hyalite I took a rack of Speedy's along with a rack of BD Express's. As the week went on it became a race to see who could get racked out first and in turn get the Speedy's. Everybody loved them, the attached draw, the option to attach a screamer if the situation warranted.
IMO PROS -The head design allows for a faster placement and better control. -At first we thought the pre-clip then finish driving was gmicky but, we all started doing it by the end. There is something to be said about the psychological release of clipping. -The screw caps attach to the screw. -Attached draw is fast - what use to take two trips to the harness is now done with one.
IMO CONS -Sometimes they are harder to clean, the narrower shaft seems to hold onto ice. However as we kept using them they got easier, may have been some kind of coating. -The Cap attach to the handle, super handy until you are beating your screw on the ice cleaning a route as second and that damn cap goes flying off. -Metal - nobody is owning up to bottoming out a screw but, one of them has a nick in it. I wonder if the metal is softer?
After trying about everything I am pretty sure that I am going to commit to the Speedy's. There may be some habit adjustment, mostly when cleaning but, they are really impressive.
Any other thoughts?

Not a fan of the speedy version.
You should try the regular Helix as well.
Huge fan of the the Helix in general. Best screw on the market IMO by a fair margin orverall. And no..the steel isn't softer than anyone elses. Somebody needs to fess up :)
I've written about it several times but here was my last and final BD comparison. Next up is the new Petzl screws.
Grivel is another example of a European company that makes a superior product compared to the watered down over advertised U.S. companies sub standard equipment.
I have a full rack of 360 and love every simple thing about them......

I am curious what you find with the Petzl's. My personal theory on why the grivels drive so nicely is that the shaft is a narrower diameter and the threads have a larger ridge...Granted this is unscientific. I haven't measured...just eyeballing.
