Description
Interesting rock up around the north side.
About 200 feet wide, in three sectors of single-pitch.
Overall facing NNW.
Just as we recognize the June Lake Loop as a little visit to Switzerland, so we see the rock of Rush as a taste of Swiss granite.
"Grimsel" valley is the famous granite area in the center of Switzerland.
warning: The rock in this sector has not been climbed much yet, and much of the rock is still breakable and loose -- so the belayer and other people should stand far away from underneath the climber.

Getting There
From sector 1 Farquhar, scramble W down talus a short ways, down past sawed-off power pole and a step to the right through a small rock notch. Then at (N37.8138 W119.1086) turn right (North) onto nice trail and hike 200 feet roughly horizontal, next NorthEast another 200 feet to around GPS latitude longitude (N37.8145 W119.1079). Then hike SouthEast uphill diagonal left on sandy dirt about 225 feet to reach the Grimsel crag. (7-12 minutes from sector 1).
Hiking time total 17-32 minutes from pull-out Parking via log bridge)
Or at times of low water flow in Rush Creek, consider the "Wading / hiking approach" described further down on the Rush area description page. But instead of going up all way to sector 1 Farquhar, turn Left (North) earlier lower at (N37.8138 W119.1086) onto a nice trail (before reaching a step to the right through a small notch to a sawed-off power pole).
(total 12-25 minutes from near Overlook parking).
