my wife and I don't live too far from GVille... we're in North Georgia (about 2 hours). we've been kicking around the idea of hitting some of the excellent climbing locations in NC (especially the Highlands/Cashiers area). There's also Currahee outside Toccoa, GA. That would not be too far for you to go, if you're interested.

I know that Table Rock - very near the Lake Jocassee area - has good climbing but i've never climbed there. I think there are problems with access issues.

we're new to our N. GA. town also, so we've been trying to meet climbers. it's tough, huh?

Try to track down tony jones at climb blue ridge the gym or check out the goat place for bouldering people. Welcome to Greenville. I don't live here anymore but fun town.

Edit. If you want specific beta on locations you can pm me. Table rock is out of season right now

There's some N GA climbers out there. Hit me up if you want to climb sometime. I'm always looking for partners on this side of the state.

hey mark... always looking for buddies to climb with! it's pretty hot out there these days but that doesn't stop us. we try to climb in mornings/evenings so shout a holler if you want to catch up sometime.

There aren't problems with access at Table Rock besides the fact that it's a very limited season to just September thru December. The climbing is slabby and heady at times as well. Big Rock is a new Upstate SC resource about 20 minutes closer to N Georgia that offers top rope, sport, trad and tons of quality bouldering. I released a limited edition guidebook to the area this spring (only available at Sunrift Adventures in Travelers Rest SC) and almost have some revisions completed to republish.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
