CommRow is taller, but you need a lead belay card from Rock Sport first, or so it was last year when I wanted to climb it. So I never have. Girlfriend got pregnant and stopped climbing. No other reliable partner.
We did top-rope the lower wall, which is fun. You get some heckling from the street-level drunkards for inspiration. Found out the speed wall has pulleys at the top. It was cold, and nobody else was around. They sent us out on our own, and that's where we tied in. I peeled off near the top, and discovered I am heavier than her, which with a pulley, caused me to continue downward while she was pulled off the ground at an ever-increasing pace. I managed to grab her side of the rope stopping our progress about five feet apart, both of us swinging out over the railing and over Virginia St. Hand-over-hand to get her back on the ground, then slowly lower myself back to the platform. As we're untying, the dude comes out and says "oh, hey, you can't use that rope... it's unsafe. It's been out here for display for a few months." Yeah, thanks dude.
