Hello , can anyone with exp in Grand recomend trad route 5.8-5.11 say 6-10 pitch or a cool canyonerring route . We are looking at Badger or North Canyon in AZ technical canyoneering. Climbing routes on MP look short and not so fun. I have soloed in Sedona and climbed in Flagstaff. This will be first Grand Canyon trip with new climbing wife . Any good beta or advice is requested. We are 5.11 scared leaders and inexperienced in canyoneering. Guides can contact me directly if you would like to take us out for a day or so.

If you do Badger Canyon, I highly recommend exiting up the canyon to the south (about 3/4 mi down the colorado) rather than ascending ropes to get out. Lots of fun, but some exposed scrambling required.

I appreciate the info re ascending ropes doesnt seem fun at all.

Std route on Zoro is a good one as an intro to ditch climbing.
South face of Zoro if you want some excitement.
Make a trip and do both routes if the Std route seems trivial.
Pegasus on Hayden if you want something approaching classic Sedona coke climbing without a full day walk. The Std route on Hayden if you want more std ditch bagging.
Vishnu if you want a cool summit with only a smattering of actual rock climbing.
Hump to Buddha and pick up a couple of 3-4 pitch climbs.

"not so fun" - ? - I've never done a canyon route that wasn't a blast but it's not main stream style climbing. Typically lot of walking for the climbing involved. You're almost not there for the climbing but rather the overall experience.

Badger is a good intro to the stuff in that area.

I'm no expert on the area but the standard route on Zoroaster was a great experience.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
