I will be in RMNP the first week of August and am looking for the best single pitch sport and trad climbing in the general vicinity. We can travel a couple hours to get to location and are basing out of the park. Thanks in advance!
Thanks for asking the question I was going to ask just a couple hours before me, Jon! I'll be in for a week leading a group of low- to mid-experience climbers. While I have no problem leading trad or sport routes, I too am going to be sticking to single pitches (I have only multi-pitched once, and not with anyone in my group I'm bringing.) Looking forward to hearing more information, if anyone can answer : )
The Twin Owls at Lumpy Ridge has some easy/moderates (Pin Route 5.4, Sky Top 5.8, Rooster Tail 5.9+, Cackle Crack 5.8). Its a lung buster getting up there, but not bad. Lily Lake (towards Long's Peak Trailhead from Estes) has all sorts of climbs with an easy approach, good for beginners.
