I love reading about climbing history, especially in the southeast. I see glassy on my way to and from work daily and am curious about the history of the climbing there - routes, different crags, first ascensionists, etc. I know it is strictly off limits, it just sparks my curiosity every time I look up at it. Cheers, Will
I've lived in the dark corner most of my life. I know that glassy used to see some climbing action back in the day. in fact, several of the local fire dpts used it for rescue training in the 80's. there were even some old bolts in several places but I've never spoke to anyone who knew anything about routes or admitted to climbing it. it would have had to have been done quietly because it was all private property even before the cliffs bought it and has always been a place where an unwanted guest could easily disappear and occasionally did.
sean Coburn is from the area, he may know something about it.
