I went hiking in RMNP yesterday, and East Glacier Knob looked (to my gumby eyes) to be pretty climbable - lots of great-looking rock, pretty lines, should be protectable...
Do people climb these?
Edit - oops, uploaded wrong picture.

Bump for curiousity. I stared at this exact area a few days ago and wondered if it had been climbed, especially that big L facing dihedral R of center in the pic.

Fuzzy memory on this one. Looked at this a number of years ago, maybe 15? Asked around and I thought someone told me it had been done. Greg Sievers, Scott Kimball, or Kelly Cordes might know.

lots of folks have climbed on the Knobs over the years. But keep in mind last weeks MP epic thread.... don't drill it. Drilling on these could really be a huge issue. And I'm writing this knowing your looking at the cracks and natural lines. In the end I haven't lived in Estes Park in twenty five years, so my opinion is mostly as a outsider. I do care about the place I learned to climb and hope it stays as is.
Bump this again into 2012 - I was hiking there last week and was intrigued by the dihedral in the posted photo. Looking at a number of old and new guide books I'm seeing no information. Anyone?? Bueller, Bueller??

Josh Gross scouted this area a bit and came up with this route. Its pretty fun. Pitches 2 and 3 are stout and high quality. I believe there was a pin in the system just right of where we climbed. There is definitely some potential for other lines up there. I would avoid drilling bolts except for anchors.
