BETA PHOTO: This is a wall on the way to the Ghost Talus Field

Description

This talus field is northwest of the Reserve and is very difficult to find. It has a bit of potential, with one very quality crimper problem. It isn't a very big field, but there are definitely a few gems.

Getting There

Start on the trail to the Reserve. When you reach the top of the South Bluff, cut off trail to the east instead of continuing southeast as for the Reserve. It is about 15 minutes from the parking lot.

I may have posted some pics of this on the S Bluff Bouldering page. Please take a look and see if you recognize anything.

Also, any better beta for that approach? People who don't know that part of the bluff will get totally lost. I will get the GPS coordinates next time I get the chance.

Another way to get up tp this area is to park as you would for the reserve but walk along the south shore road until you hit the 4th mini pullout on the right. Head straight up the hill from here for about 5-10 minutes and it's right there.

Nice! You could probably just park in that pull-out, too. Where does that bring you up in relation to the talus field: east, west, or center?

I found the coordinates posted at the top of this page to be fairly accurate, so if you have a GPS receiver its probably easiest walking to head up the Reserve trail and come in from the top.
