I'm in Florida for family reasons right now. It's warm, muggy, and flat as a pancake here. I'm also staying in a gated development where it's a PITA to do so much as go for a run.

I am going to resort to driving an hour to pull on plastic soon. My freshly-sharpened tools, crampons, and skis are hung up at home.

So, count your blessings and do something frozen for me - the only ice around here is in drinks.

Cinema Gully

Climbed Cinema Gully with two good friends on Monday before heading back to Albany. It was cold, we enjoyed it! Best luck getting out of Florida FAST

The way is recent cold snap has been you may have ice in Florida. Every climber in Maryland and PA are gearing up for their local spot this weekend! It gets any colder and you might find ice down there.

6am EST 1/23 it is 8 degrees in the Catskills with sub zero windchill. On my way up there shortly. 1 thermos with hot coco the other with hot soup and a whole lot of layers. Three days ago it was nearly 50 up there with ice crashing all day. Today it will be solid!

Cimena Gully is always a clusterfuck!! Sorry for the language but clusterfuck describes Cimena on a weekend or holiday to the T.

I'm sorry to hear others were driving you crazy.

Martin Luther King day we had it all to ourselves, probably because it was balls cold out. Good times!

I had a similar experience on Willys last year. The wind chill was -32 and the slide was deserted. We were at the top of the third pitch when my buddy said I'm exhausted and could I transverse to trees so we could rap off. I could see he felt like he ruined my day. I told him you have apologized about as many times as I said "I wish we would bail" to myself while belaying you last pitch.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
