| Anyone make it up to the Diamond this past weekend? I'm considering doing the Casual next week (if not too wet or cold) and want to know what conditions are like. Anything helps.
Thanks Cody | |

| It was dry and relatively warm up there last weekend. 4 or more parties on the Casual, 3 on Pervertical. Get up early and be careful in the North Chimney. There was some bad rockfall last weekend. My partner and I were nearly hit by a massive rock while walking from the Chasm View rappel over to the base of the routes left of the N Chimney. Also, some bozos dropped a rock down the Chasm View rappel and could have killed a solo climber. It was a bit crazy. I'll think twice before going on a busy weekend like that again. Once we were on the rock (Black Dagger), it was great! | |

| Thanks man. That's sweet news to my ears.
I'm going on Monday, hoping some of the knuckleheads will go back to their jobs. | |

| I was on the casual route last Thursday. The conditions were pretty good. The crux pitch was a little wet on the second little thin section and then in the back of the chimney but was no problem. We didn't need crampons for mills as we were able to skirt around on scree. Mills up to north chimney had a bunch of dirt mixed in with the snow allowing us to use approach shoes to the first ledge before changing into climbing shoes. There were snow patches on YWBL and on table ledge but these were no problem to deal with. | |
