Gear specs in table-format?? ... an ongoing project

Hey all,
So here it is: gearchive.com
I've been working on this website for over a couple years now... yea pathetic. The idea is to gather specs on outdoor gear and organize them in an interactive table format (sorting, filtering, etc.). It's been a long, tumultuous road and I'm nowhere near done. I just figured it's at a point now where it could be of some use to some of you. I have many more categories I’d like to add and complete, though, this shit takes FOREVER. I’ve started with the categories I know best (Ski/Camp/Climb) and hope to expand with the help of some experts from the various categories. Obviously, if the site ever built an audience the accuracy and completeness would be much better. I’m trying to get brands to help me out with filling in holes.

$$Disclosure: I can potentially earn income if users link through to merchants (REI, Backcountry, etc) via the comparison shopping links or deals blog posts and make a purchase.

Sorry for the shameless plug. I’ve just put too many hours into this thing to not put it out there a little.

tl;dr: checkout this website for comparing gear specs and shopping for the best prices

Yea David, the spec gathering has been the toughest part: fragmented, incomplete, monotonous. I think that's why it might be worth it. Thanks for checking it out.

Yea, I saw their website a few months ago. Pretty nice! I like some of their design and look. geARCHIVE.com is pretty dull, I know. I've been really focusing on functionality (primarily with the table) and that has brought a host of challenges in itself (performance-speed, pagination, horizontal scrolling, etc). When I have the content and functionality where I want it I'll go back and improve the design. Thanks for posting

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
