For those who haven't heard, Rock & Snow have a second location dubbed the "Annex". It's a small shop filled with closeouts from R&S and a ton of consignment gear of all kinds. I resisted it as long as I could but succumbed to the siren's call today. Man, that's a dangerous place for me. My challenge now will be to try to sell enough of my old stuff to offset a fraction of what I'll surely spend in there. So far I'm $128 in the hole!

Even MORE dangerous: across the street from Bacchus! Climbing gear and 400 kinds of beer make for a volatile mix!

Me at the summit of Inner Course (5.4) in the Outlets. Long, lovely, mellow route. Well protected even. My favorite lead from the trip.

I've sold almost $400 worth of gear and technical clothing I haven't been using via the Annex. More than paid for a brand new dry 60m rope for ice season! I'm waiting for them to start taking XC ski gear so I can re-home more stuff that I no longer use.

I've found a number of goodies there, too. Too bad all the Rab women's clothing samples are mediums. Great deals on jackets if that is your size.

I always thought the little upstairs backroom at Rock and Snow was the 'annex' of its time...

They are probably taking a queue from IME in North Conway. Their consignment store is a huge part of their business.

everything in IME is utter garbage though. All 1980s peices of junk. Does ther annex have actual food stuff?

No. If you're hungry, Bacchus is just across the street.

I always figured anything used and first-rate at IME just got scooped up immediately. Kind of like C4s on here.

Dunno the nicer stuff is rare and overpriced imo... ei I saw a newish pair of nepal evos (def couple seasons wear but not bad condition)that I could get 100-150 cheaper on here or geartrade than through IME

90% of the time the stuff is super dmaged or straight 80s gear.

first of all, it's "dirtbag" not "dirt bagger"; secondly, poor people can't afford buying junk like people with full-time jobs, so they invest their hard-earned cash wisely, and thirdly, I don't think the Annex was a copycat of the IME consignment (but may be). I think it's more of an extension of the wildly successful gear swap that Rich holds once a year at his store free of charge to climbers.

wow really? I can't seem to find either in a dictionary :-P

What's your source? So what about 'Dirt Bag'er'? Geeze see now you've made this all complicated and First of All, Second of All, Third of all....
