Right section

Description

Future rock is a medium sized crag (for South Korea) In a southern Suburb of Seoul. It seems to be some form of Schist, and the climbing is directional, tricky, and interesting. The area feels a bit intimidating because of the awkward stances at the base of most of the climbs, and the technical nature of the climbing. It's really overhanging! Nice vibe, feels farther away than it is when you're there. The anchors are mostly pretty bad, But myself and Sanirang are in the process of removing the mank, and replacing them with steel chain anchors. This place deserves more traffic. I've broken the crag into 3 sections for describing it.

Right section
(This is the first section you come to when descending to the crag. It is the shortest and most overhanging part of the cliff-band. This section ends where the slab at the large base of the wall begins to turn into a gully.)

Center section
(This section begins at the end of the rope rail tied to a tree, and goes all the way to the blocky, vegetated corner before the face makes a near right angle. The right-most part has a short vertical face, then a slabby part, then a overhanging face. This section is home to the best looking, longest routes, as well as the hardest.)

Left section
(This section is the farthest left. It has a couple of vertical, really thin routes on the face, and a couple more in the corner.)

Getting There

(The crag is in the city of Uiwhang, which is a southern suburb of Seoul. You can take the subway to Indeokwon Station (line 4), and then take bus 1-1 (in the opposite direction of Sadang) to Hyeon Wi Chi (called LG Apartments on the bus station shelter). {you can also take buss 5-2 to the same stop from Beomgye Station}. When you get off the bus, cross the street and look up at the mountain in front of you. You will be able to see the crag up and left near the summit. Walk up the small street that runs up to the base of the mountain on. A middle school will be on your left. Follow the trail up many stairs made with logs. The trail will veer left several times. You will walk through a little park type of place after about 10 minutes. Walk up the next set of metal and lumber stairs, and over some slab with a rope handrail. The trail will level off a bit as you get near the peak. Then you will pass some wooden benches on the sides of the trail. When you see the rocky summit on your left, and a “119” sign, descend down and right behind the sign.)
