I was going to say that it takes away the "fast break" opportunities and that the object of the game is to score goals. But then I see teams consciously slow their play in pursuit of the tie and the lack of sudden death and those kinds of "pretty" nuances such as offsides are fully understood. Right...... | FLAG |

Anyone who has ever played soccer knows how irritating it is when there is someone cherry picking by the goal. And for those of you who think i'm a traitor... living in America is great. I love it. But i'd rather pick a favorite team based on talent and abilities rather than defaulting to my home country. besides, the competition bit really doesn't matter to me. i just like watching the game. but after it's all said and done, i'm more than happy to live in in the USA; where orthodontics are a big deal :) | FLAG |

I agree - I love just watching the game as well, but when I've got money riding on a set of predictions, well I tend to get more competitive on it :) And yes, I'll fully admit I default to my home country for first support until they get pushed out - in which case England is going to win. It's different imo to support your home country and acknowledge who is a better team though. | FLAG |

Maicon's goal: nice run, pass has a bit too much pace - not sure if Maicon will get to it, BOOM!! ridiculous finish. Now I'm sure some of you are thinking the keeper was out of position and he should have played the ball and not anticipated the cross. But come on, Maicon scores from one meter off the touchline. Just ridiculous skill to curve the ball in the goal from that position. Either way...its frigging awesome to waste time at work watching the very best footballers in the world go at it. | FLAG |

| Kia Marie, states, "'I moved and don't have a TV anymore so i have NO IDEA what is going on in the great world of soccer anymore....'" Bummer! What's also a bummer is that there's no radio coverage of it either. I was in Bolivia the last World Cup and if you weren't near a tv to catch it, at least they had it on radio. If you have a iPhone or something like that, you can download the espn app for it. Video feeds and catch the matches via their radio feed. Awesome game: Mexico beating the Frenchies!! First time they've ever beaten then and first time they've scored since 1966. Interesting watching some underdogs doing pretty good.... Same with the Swiss beating the Spanish team... Good games for sure!!! Juan | FLAG |

Not that it's the ref's fault. Maybe one day we'll care in the first half and not have to play from behind. Just maybe... I'm pretty sure someone paid that ref a ridiculous amount of money to call a foul there! Edu should've had a goal at the 86' and FIFA should give us that game!! Koman Coulibaly problably won't be calling any more games in this tournament says FIFA (good news for everyone else)! I guess that's the closest the US will get to an apology!!
