GREAT.....a whole month of watching a bunch of crybabies fall to the ground and whine to the refs. I think I'll just grab some bamboo shoots and ram them up my fingernails...much more gratifying. bdiddy

Does anyone else find it ironic that no one in America gave 2 shits about soccer a few months ago.

Now America is enamored with "futbol"... what gives?

Maybe if we had Papale:

mountainproject.com/v/communit...

I still remember Columbia '94 & just falling 1-0 against eventual champion Brazil, it's probly old-school now --- but still AWESOME!!

Yeah but they also got fouled in the box, so 2-2. SA played outta their head in the 2nd half and deserved the draw. Bet against the home team in pool play at your peril. steve edwards

no, soccer is not anywhere near as cool as climbing, its cool, but not that cool. its on the same level as hedgehogs and the media calling people climbers who have a 75 ft rope cut into three sections.

The usual suspects, Brasil, Germany, Italy, England, Spain, Portugal, France?, US?, Argentina, and ? to advance out of group play and in the quarterfinals. Brasil and Germany in the finals? jsm

bdiddy states, or more accurately whines, "'GREAT.....a whole month of watching a bunch of crybabies fall to the ground and whine to the refs. I think I'll just grab some bamboo shoots and ram them up my fingernails...much more gratifying.'"

You have freedom of choice: don't watch it then. Get over it!!

eddie brown states, "'Does anyone else find it ironic that no one in America gave 2 shits about soccer a few months ago.'"

Speak for yourself. I know NUMEROUS people that pay attention to futbol all year long, and not just here in the USA. better than moronic footbrawl watching a bunch of guys in tight pants slapping each other in the ass!!

All those amazing moves those men/women make on the field, no wonder they call it the "beautiful game". They run their asses off without really taking a break. But footbrawl, they run 5 yards and have to take a three to five minute commercial break. 99% of footbrawlers wouldn't be able to keep up for one half, much less than the entire time for a game of futbol.

GO FUTBOL!!!!!!

My guess is cuz we were expected to laugh and make fun of futbol'European style being red blooded 'Mericans who climb rocks instead of kicking a silly ball round with our feet. Am I right?
