Nice pic of Cakewalk. This guy was a Vet dermatolo...

Freeway Wall is a long formation with two distinct sections. It is easily identified by a prominent rampy slab on its south side on the chunk furthest from the road. The wall is popular and has several excellent 5.9 and harder climbs like Cakewalk and Nobody Walks in LA

Getting There

Head south on the Lost Horse dirt road. Freeway Wall is the first large formation reached and has a 4 car pullout, from which the rampy slab is visible. Follow the climber's trail to the boulders, and talus hop uphill to reach the more popular section section of the rock. The lower section is a short walk from the parking area.

Start about 20' left of Cakewalk (5.8) by climbing past a solitary bolt into an arching, left-facing corner. Higher, steep and enjoyable moves lead past another bolt into a thin crack which leads to the top.A great route which should not be missed if in the area, this climb will leave a favorable impression on you. Three stars out of five....[more]   Browse More Classics in CA
