BETA PHOTO: Freeway Slabs as seen from I-80

This south-facing wall is of typical Donner quality, very solid granite, and while the access is easy, the routes appear seldom done.

Getting There

From Reno, take I-80 west and park at the base of the obvious slab in a dirt pullout approx. 1 mile east of the summit. Follow an overgrown trail north along a seasonal creek till you are almost directly west of the slab, then cut over to the base.

Refer to J. Jackson's Local's Guide for more info and photos.

Any updates on the anchor upgrades?

Highly doubt they are upgraded, Sean. I'll try to replace them before the end of the year. This is a great little spring time area when the rest of Donner is too cold and wet.

FYI it'd be useful if you are writing direction you said which direction of travel your giving them from. Truckee, boreal. Mozambique

Anchor update - A friend began replacing the existing bolts with ASCA donated bolts; however all the bolts (both old and new) were subsequently removed and patched. This includes the protection bolts on Freeway Jam. In light of this removal, we will not be replacing any more fixed gear there. This should not discourage you from climbing there as the walk off is short (though a bushwack).
