Reminds me of the time my buddy used my rope for some roof repairs and got tar on it. He used a solvent to clean to tar and hoped I wouldn't notice. Eventually, he bought me a new rope.

That rope is definitely junk, according to SPRAT (Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians) training; motor oil is on the list of chemicals that fuck with a rope.
