| I much preferred the fit of the supermoccs too, especially the heal. That said, I can understand them deciding that their customers liked the fit of the original Moc better, and just sticking with that, but... Why didn't they at least keep the untreated leather around? If I were in the tribe of habitual Moc users, the constant red feet would piss me off. | FLAG |

| I was just up at North Summit Rock Gym, in Wind Gap, PA - they have both the supermocs and V10's in stock. They don't have an online retailer, but you can call or e-mail them - (610) 863-4444 info@northsummitclimbing.com | FLAG |

| Speaking of supermocc's, can these be resoled? They're so thin I feel like its not possible but I want mine to last! | FLAG |

Not with the original Mystique rubber, since Five Ten doesn't sell it. And AFAIK, no-one else sells anything comparable in terms of thinness and durability. Also, I've heard resolers say they're a pain, because they have no last in the forefoot. I guess that's part of what makes them so thin, but may be a problem for resolers. I should be getting my first resole of a Supermocc back from Rock & Resole within a few days - I'll let y'all know how it went. GO | FLAG |

GO Actually, they have no midsole. The last is the foot-shaped chunk of plastic or wood that they sew the shoe around, it's not a part of the shoes themselves. It's kind of like a mold for making a shoe. Typically, a resoler will grind the existing rubber down to the midsole, then put on new rubber. There is a little room for error in grinding. But if you have no midsole at all, a tiny error in grinding (which isn't exactly a precision endeavor to start with) puts a hole through your shoe. If I were a resoler, I wouldn't touch those things. Normally, you could just leave a little excess rubber on and "stack" the new rubber on top of the remainder of the old. This is a relatively popular procedure down here in Josh (large grainy rock, eats rubber), where you expect to resole a shoe many, many times. But you can't do that on these, because the super-thin profile is part of the appeal of the shoe. Personally, I just keep a pair of regular Mocs around that are about 90% of the way to resole. A little seam grip over the toe knuckles and you've bsaically got a supermoc but without that extra thickness of the toecap/rand over the smaller toes (which probably offsets having the thin sole anyway when you're talking about overall toe profile thickness) | FLAG |

It's kind of like a mold for making a shoe. Thanks for the correction. As for Moccs with some seam grip being functionally equivalent - nope. That's what I used previously (and still do on occasions where I don't want to waste the Supermoccs) and they just aren't as thin. Course I've been known to just get rid of the shoes entirely and tape my toes. But that's cheating. ;) GO | FLAG |

| I got my Super Mocs resoled and they are still great. Rock-n-Resole did an awesome job. It was not the Mystic rubber but they have thinned up nicely and are doing well in thin cracks. I don't know if they will make it through another resole but if not I guess its back to the red foot blues. That said, there's not really a better shoe out there for thin cracks (in my opinion) than the mocs since the supers are gone. Oh well. It was good while it lasted. | FLAG |
