Description
80-140 foot spire on the SW flank of the mountain. Also referred to as Bill Williams Monument, Bill Williams Spire and Chimney Rock. First ascent by Powell, Feuerer and Wilson in 1957. There are 3 known routes on the spire. 85 foot rappel off slings with rings.
Getting There
Follow FR 111 to an obvious wooden sign high up on the mountain that reads FINGER ROCK. Park at the pullout there and walk the short trail that leads to a lookout where you can see the spire and the traversing approach. Get your bearings and go back to the car and drive a hundred yards or so to the next pullout on the left. 20-30 minute bushwack.
