I'm tired of my older synthetic bag taking up a disproportionate amount of apace in my haulbag. I'm due for a new bag. What's your favorite? Have you found that sweet spot of warmth to weight to compressibility? If so, clue me in!

Abit more info would be helpful to steer you in the right direction. Average temps you plan on using the bag in, are you a warm or cold sleeper, do you prefer down or synthetic?
I have a Marmot plasma 15, my gf has a mtn hardware phantom 15, both are water restitant down. Both are super light, warm and comfy. I've also been hearing good things about the new lamia from mt. hardware.

This would be for spring/summer/fall use in Yosemite. I want synthetic, and something that compresses reasonably well. I understand the difference between down compressibility and synth. I hate wrestling with a synth bag first thing in the morning, trying to stuff it in a too small compression sack.

I'm a warm sleeper, which in el cap 90% of the time staying warm isn't an issue. I'd be good down to a 32°.

I took a down bag last September on the nose and got caught in a downpour. I was able to stay dry enough, but feel like I dodged a bullet.

An old synthetic bag that your not worried about destroying on a wall is worth the pain of stuffing it in the morning. Don't climb el cap with a down bag, if you need to be rescued because of it, you will be fined for the rescue.

Synthetic Bags are the way to go on big walls. You already know that. I got this bag(Aurora 20') from Mountain Equipment and have really liked it so far. It packs small and is pretty light for an synthetic.

It is a UK company but you can find their stuff quite a few places.

I'm in love with my Ultra Lamina 32 by Mountain Hardware. Packs up the size of a grapefruit and it's warm for a 32 IMO. It looks like MH just changed the design though which could be a good or a bad thing.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
