fatality on The Nose, El Cap

Sadly, there was a fatality on El Cap a couple days ago. A 22 year old named Tyler (didn't catch his last name) died in an apparent rappelling accident above Camp V on the Nose. So sad. Good reminder to us all to be vigilant - even when you have a kind of backup.

Having been climbing for over 10 years, gives me pause for thought. So many tasks tend to become "automatic"
