Gonna pick up a pair of these. They look really nice. Sizing sounds real weird though. Half the reviews I've seen seem to indicate sizing up is the way to go, the other half seem to indicate sizing down is the way to go. Is the sizing totally erratic or what?! Furthermore, I've also hear that Geshidos don't fit anything like other Evolv shoes. I've never climbed in a Evolv shoe before - I'm more of a La Sportiva guy. I'm hoping these are similar to my Miura laces. I'm a 10.5 street shoe, but I wear 9 (42) in la sportiva. Sizing suggestions?
I'v worn 11.5 in a couple pairs of 5.10's and an 11.5 in the Evolv Pontas was a perfect snug fit, street shoe size is usually 12/13 depending on the shoe. I needed to size up to a 12 in the Gehsido SC (the velcro) for a snug fit. So, half size up? Or just find a place to try some on and see for yourself.
So I'm going to throw a lot of conjecture into this. I'm also going to talk out of my ass for a moment. Bear with me.
I tried on a pair of Geshido's in my "evolve size" both 8 and 8.5. Same as get for almost every pair of evolves I've ever owned (somewhere around 40 pairs) and I was unable to get them on my feet. I ended up not purchasing them due to this.
I figure if I need a shoe that is "too big" for me to fit it, once I've broken the shoe in, that they will still climb like shoes that are too big. I've seen it before.
Now, lets get deeper. You say you're hoping they'll be like Miuras? Why not get Miuras? Seems to make sense to me.
Sure they are about 30% cheaper. Question is, after 1, 2, 3, and finally 4 resoles, will you remember that price difference? Will the Geshido make it that far even? Will the toe box deform and the last get super soft just like most other evolves? Think it over.
I'm only saying this because I've made the same mistake a ton. I know what I want, then I get the evolve version instead because of price. I'm rarely happy or happier with that decision.
I wear a 10.5 street and 10.5 in my Shamen and Geshdos and they both fit perfectly (I wear a 42 in LS Miuras). The Geshidos have quickly become my go to shoes, they are great on everything from multi pitch trad to sport cragging. These feel similar to Miuras as far as fit and precision but are definitely stiffer which IMO make for a better edging shoe, I also find that my feet hurt less on multi pitch in the Geshido.

I just got a pair of lace geshidos in 10.5 - they are marginally larger than my 42 miuras. Looking forward to climbing in them!
