Ice Climbing
This is an obscure ice area that has had reports of ice over the years but little specific details. According to grayer haired folks, at least 2 ice pitches have been known to form with regularity. Ice has been spotted and climbed during cold, wet stretches between Morrison and Evergreen. The ice can be spotted from the road on the S side (North facing). These are short pitches of ice, reminiscent of ice from South St. Vrain or Big Thompson drainages.
Per rope dope, "The ice at the first pullout just west of Morrison is in and very nice... WI2-4+ in spots... 15 minute approach across the creek and up and over will put you at the ice. It is thin in the middle by the flow but nice side routes.... There is also another forming just west of it on the east side of CO 74 as well, both visible from the road."

Getting There
Drive West from Morrison, from C-470, towards Evergreen or East from Evergreen towards Morrison. Ice, when in, is visible from the road.
Per David Oyler: access is off of CO Hwy 74 (not 73) and is 1.5 miles past the 4th entrance (Titans Rd.) for Red Rocks as you head west. There's a 35mph speed limit sign, then a large rock/hill on the left (south) side of the road. If you drive just past the hill and look south, you'll see Bear Creek ice.
