Essential Boulder is a good piece of rock with problems on the north, west, east, and south faces.

Landings vary, but most are good.

Getting There 

It is directly across the road from the second Black Wave Boulder Area pullout or on the east side of CO Highway 141, 20 yards from the pavement.

Climbing Season

For the Nine Mile Hill area.
