Emigration Canyon is a nice, yet small, subset canyon of Salt Lake City. Running east/northeast - west, Emigration Canyon climbs out of the valley from the University of Utah and ends on HW 65 at the Little Dell Resevoir of East Canyon.
Mostly on private property the climbing etiquette is that of a quiet one. Don't be heard, try not to be seen. There are a small handful of areas found in Emigration Canyon, be weary, be wise, be careful and just go have fun.
If you find yourself in the neighborhood, do some chossyoneering!! then when your done check out Ruth's Diner or grab a drink at the Sun and Moon Cafe
Who knew choss could be such a destination?!?
Getting There
If coming from the north, south, or west, get to Foothill Drive and take it to Sunnyside Avenue and the Hogle Zoo, continue east into Emigration Canyon. See individual areas for crag directions.
The Classics
Mountain Project's determination of some of the classic, most popular, highest rated routes for Emigration Canyon:
i think emigration canyon is great. i think the rock up there is crap. i think climbing is fun regardless of quality, location, or whatever. i think you could have a great day bouncing from area to area here. i think i think too much.
