Scarface V5

Description

Granite boulders on a hill just below a multi pitch wall. Can get very hot in the summer as this area sees mostly sun during the day. The lakeside setting is nice during the summer and a great place to swim.

There are around 90 problems, including some hard projects, some great single and multi pitch climbing, and this area is also home to the mega classic - Suspension of Disbelief.

Boulders and main wall dry quickly.

Getting There

From Vancouver take HWY 7 east from Mission to Morris Valley Rd. Make a left onto the FSR at the first 4 way stop. Follow this road for about 10 mins up to the lake. The boulders are at the opposite end of the lake. Park at the large pullout. From the east take HWY 7. Make a right on the first gravel road after crossing the swing bridge and continue straight through the 4 way to the lake.

Suspension of Disbelief V10  International : Canada : ... : Elbow Lake bouldering
Start down in the cave on two smooth edges, paste your feet on, and throw for the fat shelf. Use some trickery to make the 4+ foot reach to a couple of small insets on the roof. Work your way into a crazy overhead heel hook and reach out to a bad mono/thumb catch on the featureless arete to set you up for the crux sequence. Climb through the steep scoop and finish up the face using the arete. The stump may be removed in the future for aesthetic reasons but will not effect how the problem is done...[more]   Browse More Classics in International

Keith Hunter put up a few nice pitches on the left side of the multi-pitch wall a few years back. Beautiful granite which needs more traffic.

Thanks Jason for taking a saw to that stump and building up the landing. I'll sledge the rest.
