I have found a pair of Élan Mt.Vinson (77 mm waist) with naxo nx21 bindings. I am wanting to get into alpine touring, anyone have input on these skis? How will the 77 mm waist handle off piste? I am thinking about trading my pair of Atomic blackeye ti skis (82 mm waist) with Salomon bindings. Do the Mt.Vinsons compare to my Atomic's?

95+ underfoot. Early rise tip. Flat tails. Dynafit bindings.

Everything else is a compromise. I'm speaking for Colorado. Where you ski will have a big impact on your ski decision. I would avoid those naxo bindings.

I was very disappointed with a pair of naxos I had a few years back. They are chattery and wobbly when compared to many other binding systems, not to mention heavy and prone to failure. Ive switched to Dynafits and never regretted it.

As for the skis, I can speak to the Mt Vinson in particular, but I'd agree with Denny that something a little wider underfoot may be better depending on conditions. If you're making the investment in skis, skins, and bindings, better to do it right the first time.

Darin, sounds like you were on the old nx01s. Nx21s have supposedly fixed those problems and ride comparably to fritschi freerides.

Dynafits are great if you have the cash (make sure to get compatible boots) but Naxos will suit you fine for all but the longest hikes and biggest boards.
