Hello all,
Just bought a Edelrid 150 9,7 rope 60m. I was curious as to what everyone's opinions on this rope are. How long with a rope of this nature last climbing lead in the gym about 10 hours a week and slight lead climbing outdoors on the weekends. Any tips, Reviews, Advice would be awesome.
Thanks Guys!

It is completely dependent on how often you fall. Falling on lead wears out the end of the rope that you are tied in to. Hanging also wears out that end, but not as fast as falling.

Typically sport climbers try to alternate ends to spread the wear between both ends. Fall until you get a core shot. Chop off the damaged part, rinse and repeat.

Falling a lot in TR doesn't wear the sheath as fast because the part if the rope running through the anchor will be different for each fall. But I find that TR falling and hanging can pretty quickly make a rope feel dead, like a wet noodle. Especially if the climber is heavy.

So the determining factors are:
- how often will you fall/hang on lead
- how often you will fall on TR
- how long is your rope

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
