Bumping for a good cause - This is the first I heard of the closure / access problems at Eagles Bluff. I stopped there last summer on the way back from Acadia for a half day and thought the climbing was just as good as the more popular cliffs in Acadia. For 150k, the Access Fund is getting a great price to secure access to this cliff.

And for those that can't make it, you can make direct contributions on the Access Fund website: www.accessfund.org/eaglebluff

"Webster’s newest illustrated lecture, The Evolution of the American
Climber, 1910 – Present is composed of ALL ORIGINAL & ARCHIVAL climbing photos, from the earliest days of roped rock climbing (in 1910 and 1912 in Huntington Ravine on Mt. Washington in
NH’s White Mountains) to the present day.

Documenting the advances of each generation of American climbers, decade by decade, From Suits and Ties to Pitons and Cams gives a unique overview and appraisal of the evolution of climbing gear, clothing, climbing ethics—and American climbers themselves. And the photos are AMAZING: from the collections of Robert Underhill, Ken Henderson, Fritz Wiessner, and ... Tom Frost—his classic 1960s photos of Yosemite Valley which Tom gave me permission to use in the show.... include the 1961 first ascent of the Salathe Wall on El Capitan in Yosemite Valley, of Yvon Chouinard (founder of Chouinard Equipment & Patagonia Clothing ) forging pitons, plus Chouinard & Frost’s invention of modern rock climbing protection, hexentrics & stoppers. Then : hard free climbing with Jimmy Dunn, Henry Barber, etc. And Ed’s own 1976 landmark first ascent: Super Crack in Utah."
