Climbing areas reopened after flood MORE INFO >>>

Description

This "F3" east face climb is the recommended start for any of the east face routes on Der Freischutz. It is about 200 feet long and provides for a summy climb on a winter afternoon. The easiest route up this solid face is on the northside.

Descent: Downclimb about 25 feet from the summit along the north ridge. Chimmey down the west side using a large boulder near the base of Der Freischutz.

Protection

Light SR.

My partner and I had some extra time after Der Freishutz, so we decided to climb Overture. It was a nice surprise.

The East Face is a fun, easy, and well protected climb. The pockets feel like steps up much of the face.
