Description

This rock would make a great first solo experience. Start at the low point of the rock and climb up and right until you reach the center of the face and the then head straight up on great easy rock for some 150 feet.

Descent - Follow the Mallory cave "scramble gully" back down to the trail

Protection

Standard rack.

I have known this formation as "The Shark Fin" although the "Mallory Flatironette" makes sense with its proximity above the famous cave.
