2015 Raptor Closure at Bridge Creek Wall area MORE INFO >>>

The Duty Dome Area is home to a number of significant crags, including Duty Dome, Warrior Wall, Fish Wall, Keen Acres, and Peekaboo Tower. These crags are located on the north side of Icicle Creek Canyon, and get lots of sun. The Duty Dome area is located between Givler's Dome and Icicle Buttress. Duty dome can be readily identified by the route Heart of Gold, an obvious white streak on the left side of the dome. Many of the bolted routes in the Duty Dome area are mixed lines that require some supplemental gear.

Getting There

Drive west up Icicle Creek ~6.3 miles. Park on the south side of the road and look for a trail heading up about 200 yards before the base of Icicle Buttress. A large boulder on the roadbank helps identify the start of the trail. The first crags are reached after ~15 minutes walk.

From the top of the 2nd pitch of Yard Art, the West Face route follows a bolt line that heads left towards and then around the arete of the tower. The Kramar guidebook describes a second anchor near the base of this pitch, but the hangers were gone when we climbed it. The pitch can be easily climbed from the Yard Art belay.Once around the arete and onto the west face, follow a 4-inch fist crack for 15 feet and then climb steeply up a bolted face and arete onto the summit ridge of the tower.This...[more]   Browse More Classics in WA

I'm hoping someone found a Olympus TG-3 camera at the base of Duty Dome. It would've been found on Saturday 8/30 climbers right of Straight Street under the bolted 5.7. If you've found it please email me at cfroman@gmail.com
