Description
Dog Dome is a smaller formation located on the northeast shoulder of the more well-known Lembert Dome. Dog Dome is about 300' tall and hosts four recorded routes, the most popular being the North Face (5.8, 3 pitches).
Getting There
About 1/4 mile east from the TM Lodge, jump on the Dog Lake/Young Lakes Trail and hike north. Once you crest at the saddle hang a left onto a mellow rock slab and walk the slab about 200 yds to hang a right (north) down a gully to reach the base of the north face. Traverse west to the base of the climb. This approach avoids disturbing the meadow/pond and sensitive wetlands near the base of the climb. Allow 15-20 minutes for the approach. See map attached.
