Fifteen bucks only goes so far...

I'm pretty well stocked for climbing gear. Guess I'll get a pair or socks or something.

$3!!!!

I switched to a Capitol one card and get a $25 amazon gift card ever 5-6 weeks now. REI only gets my business on sale items.

Awww yeah. The Visa got me a nice fat dividend too. Master Cams 00, 0, 2, and assorted biners and runners will be shoved in cracks and clipped at Red Rocks next week. Tis a magical time of year!

If you have the will-power to save your dividends for another month, you can probably get yourselves some of the new BD X4 cams. I spoke with an REI agent briefly and it seems like BD will be shipping them out on April 16th, and that you can backorder the cams before that.

Camalots are at Kmart, right?
I'm getting a new cord. The dividend is an offset. I already needed a new rope. This provides incentive.

I decided to get rid of my old credit card and try the REI Visa. I guess it was worth it. Dividend is $450.00! I too am pretty stocked up on gear, but the two person bag mentioned up thread is sounding like good idea. Superclimber

You realize you could just $450 dollars back into your bank account too, right? Or I guess you could spend it on something at REI you don't really need....

Some of you spend some serious money at REI. I got $47 bucks back. With a 20% off coupon this means a relatively cheap new pair of shoes for moi. Speaking of the coupon, does anyone know when it comes out? Jake Jones

I think you need to read a little closer next time... The people that are getting over $100 back all stated they have the REI Visa card which gives you 1% back on ALL purchases as well as 15% back on REI purchases.

Jake, It is not necessarily money spent at REI. My wife uses her REIVisa for work travel.
Work then repays her for the expenses, and we get the points. Our dividends have been
in the $300-$500 range!

$145

Got me the gri gri 2 and am going to purchase the micro traxion on Friday when the 20% coupon comes in, I also have the REI Visa.

The REI Visa is great as long as you pay it off full every month to keep those interest rates down. :)

Fixed it for you.

I 2nd the fact that you don't need to ever set foot in REI to get a fat dividend... And you probably want to wait for July to get a check for some of it (assuming your basement is as full of gear as mine).

Ah, gotcha. I was thinking people were dumping 5k every year at REI. I'm sure some do, and if you got it like that, that's great.

I'm surprised this thread hasn't deteriorated into another "I hate REI" thread. I like REI!

Jake, you can spend your dividend as soon as the calculated amount shows up on the REI website (you enter your membership number and name). You don't have to wait for the dividend in the mail. I've done this a couple of times.

Get your dividend working for you again. If you wait till July, get cash from them. Put the cash in your bank account, spend on your rei credit card, then pay off the balance with that cash. You can earn more dividends this way Chad F

Genius.

Lets not forget you can always buy a pair of shoes, wear out the soles, then return them for full price, then post online about how they don't carry those shoes anymore and you're pissed! (Anyone remember that thread?)

Unnecessary. You earn full dividends when you spend your current dividend on non sale items. But, you never earn dividends on sale items other than the 1% you get from all rei card purchases.

If you have the exact same sleeping bag with opposite zippers yes. I've owned probably 4 sleeping bags and none of them zip together.
