I absolutely agree that you should only add a route if you have done it, attempted it, or have substantial knowledge about it. This is the point of the site, no?

As to beta...if you don't want beta, why are you on this site looking at the route page? It's like the people who watch TV and complain about obscenities. Simple solution...turn it off!

Would you seriously Delete every route on the site posted by the FA party, 10 years after the fact? How about every route here that doesn't have a photo?
Then I suggest we just ban all people without digital cameras from submitting to the site. Go ahead and wipe all that stuff I've submitted, well over 1000 routes, from the site.
Most people climb for themselves and not for MP.com, thusly, pictures while climbing may not be their priority. A picture will fill in sooner or later?
No thanks, no more rules. Rules are for people with bad judgement.

It would, but I could upload any photo, right??? It might not really describe the route. Ergo, the end result desired is completely unenforceable.
