Did you hit my car at Movement Climbing Gym Friday?

On Friday between the hours of 2pm and 3:30pm at the Movement Climbing gym in Boulder someone backed into my car and just drove off. I was parked in the front part of the lot in a designated parking space (not on the side behind Quizno's, or illegally in the Subway parking). It wasn't like this when I arrived at the gym since I pulled my gear out of the trunk, but it's the first thing I noticed when putting my gear back into my car. Obviously from the height of the vehicle I would put it in the range of a Red SUV.

I understand HOW these things happen, but what pisses me off is he/she left no note and just drove off. Now if you did not notice that you hit my car then that's OK, but I would appreciate it if you could PM me so we can work this out. However if you just hit my car and then drove off and you're reading this right now thinking to yourself I'm not emailing this guy then I really hope that you pop a major tendon the next time you go out climbing that keeps you away from climbing for a LONG time (I don't wish any other bodily harm than this, we are only talking about a car here).

The alternative here is that I've already contacted the police and my insurance company and if I see your car with blue paint all over the bumper then I'll let the cops and you handle it. Since I'm totally lame and goto the gym both during lunch and after work chances are I will see you there.

I will be on the look out for a douche bag in a red SUV as well. They might be hard to spot amongst all the other douche bags in red SUVs in Boulder, but I will do my best!

i hip checked it and unfortunately some of my spandex wore off on it... in all seriousness, i hope you figure out who did it as they should be called out on their poor form. movement might have parking lot cameras, you should give them a call.

I think the one part of Movement (not the gym itself, which is state-of-the-art) that could use some tweaking is the parking lot. Spatially, I don't think they're getting the most out of the lot. Really narrow spaces and not a lot of space between the middle and the side spaces. Also don't understand the "flower beds" on the ends in the middle. Makes backing out of the very back spots (closest to Valmont) pretty hard if you have a bigger car/truck (Have a tacoma and it's a bit of a pain.)

I have a scratch/dent in the side of my truck from someone there opening their door and slamming it into mine. Hence my argument on the narrow spaces.

Haha, yeah that might be the first gun I ever shot besides a BB/Pellet gun when I was a kid. Hence the giant grin on my face after shooting a 44 magnum in Buena Vista.

True enough about the parking spots. Unless you are driving a freaking Yugo those spots are tiny. You have to pull in almost perfectly straight and you still only have about 6 inches on both sides between your car and the lines.

Get a bicycle. Maybe they designed it that way to discourage driving there.

In CA that would be misdemeanor hit and run.

Is it just me or are there simularities in the wording of this post and the post that begins, "Did you hurt my feelings at Movement rock gym". Coincidence? I'm suspicious...............

JArthur, seeing on how you are holding a pistol in your profile picture I doubt anyone is going to admit to their wrong doing.

I'd post that picture in Movement along with a statement saying that witnesses observed and the police are looking...either they'll come forward or never come back.

Once, just after pulling out of the BRC, my truck got nailed with a home run ball on the passenger side door!

I'm sure they spent the million some-odd dollars building a state of the art climbing gym and decided to spend even more money building a "fake parking lot" in order to get people to ride bikes. That sounds like a brilliant idea.

I have full coverage insurance by USAA, but since this falls under my Comprehensive Coverage Plan there is a $500 to $1,000 deductible that comes out of my pocket and on top makes my insurance premiums go up if I use it. It would have been one thing if it just hit the bumper because I wouldn't have cared, but it jacked up the metal of the car which is going to rust so I can't just ignore it.

you might ask the Movement owners if they have a security camera taping the parking lot

Bolted Car

On Sunday between the hours of 2am and 3:30am in my driveway someone bolted my car and just drove off. I was parked in the front part of my driveway in my designated parking space (not on the side behind the bush, or illegally in my wife's parking spot). It wasn't like this when I arrived at home since I pulled my gear out of the trunk, but it's the first thing I noticed when putting my gear back into my car. Obviously from the height of the bolts I would put it in the range of a small sport climber or boulderer.

I understand HOW these things happen, but what pisses me off is he/she left no note and just drove off. Now if you did not notice that you bolted my route then that's OK, but I would appreciate it if you could PM me so we can work this out. However if you just bolted my route and then drove off and you're reading this right now thinking to yourself I'm not emailing this guy then I really hope that you pop a major tendon the next time you go out climbing that keeps you away from climbing for a LONG time (I don't wish any other bodily harm than this, we are only talking about a car here).

The alternative here is that I've already contacted the police and my insurance company and if I see your drill with blue paint all over the bit then I'll let the cops and you handle it. Since I'm totally lame and stay in my house both during lunch and after work chances are I will see you there.

Mark: Hilarious! Somebody did you a nice service by turning your car into a mobile belay anchor. Where can I sign up for this?

Cushman - That pic is getting to have more mileage than your car - Get an original idea already...But if you are serious - I am on the lookout for a shirtless beanie wearing midget sporting a bosch!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
