I may be living under a rock somewhere, but I just heard about this stuff!

I used this stuff on a long trip once. Doesn't really taste like peanut butter but if you're looking for a compact light way to carry a lot of fatty calories it does the trick. Anything shorter than 5 days or so though and I'd just bring the real stuff.

Edit: It may have been a different brand though, I don't remember.

At the bottom of that post you mention wishing for hummus. They do make it, not sure which the best option is but I've gotten into some on long trails and it's quite the treat!

Great feedback! I guess it's best to mix it up as needed. Mine tastes good, but it has the chocolate in it. Chocolate makes everything taste good!

Yay on the hummus! Must track it down.

I've seen dried hummus in bulk sections of premium grocery stores, but also cheap 24 hr ones like WinCo

It's not just dehydrated; it is made into a powder by removing a lot of the fat. It is a decent protein source for its weight, but on a calorie basis, it is actually heavier than normal peanut butter. One ounce of PB2 has 105 calories. One ounce of regular peanut butter has 165 calories.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
