Hello,

I have a question about deep water soloing here. Would it be best to have a boat when climbing here or can floating tubes work?

My second question is are the routes all established for the deep water soloing or is it more of a find anything you can climb type of deal?

Thanks, im having trouble finding this information on the net

You stay away from mah pig!
The reason that you are having trouble finding info on the net is because land managers and govt agencies have been known to frequent climbing websites in the past. Posting information, or asking questions in a public forum, is a great way to get law enforcement more aggressive than it currently is.

Just go to Summersville, climb the roped routes, and then jump in the water when you want to swim and cool off.

The rule was originally created in response to discourage drunken thrillseekers, which is not what deep water soloing is about. I think the cops there understand this, but, like any cops, will jump at an opportunity to bust you regardless. todd w

Really??? This is like the tenth time this topic has been posted on here in the last year or two. So far nothing has come of it. Posting questions about summersville DWS is nothing new....
