While it is probably old news, but I noticed that the Coronado is contemplating the decommission of various roads in the Dragoons:

Frankly, I cannot tell from the map if it will affect climbing. I do not think it will. Perhaps another set of eyes would be good?

My favorite place

Thanks Scott,

As you can imagine, different versions of these maps have been spread over my dining room table and desk for some time now and Scott has been meeting with various people(Forest Service and Wilderness Society) to pour over these maps. The only area of interest I can see is the Sheepshead parking lot. Does it look like they might be closing the left fork that goes to the gate? Other then that they do not appear to change much. You can still get to the Watchtower on China Camp Road. They are closing off old branches.

The left side branch next to the trailhead for the Sheepshead will close. This would eliminate 1-2 campsites on this branch. Getting to the trailhead would be just another 100 feet or so.

We might lose perhaps one campsite on the branch south of the Isle of You.
[edit to add] Closure of 4231 will also eliminate 2-3 nice camp spots.

Other than this access to the west side is not changed.

The east side access and campsites look unchanged.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention Scott!
