Very sad news. Lloyd was a Pilot Mountain mainstay and would often give beta and other route advice to those climbing there. Only this weekend did my group and I see him there. Please be careful all.

Man, this sucks to hear. An old guy out there doing what he loved. NC has been unlucky this year. Bummer. Condolences to this man's family and friends.

Lloyd was a fixture at Pilot and knew more about that place than most would ever care to. He was an endless source of beta.

He put together an online guide to Pilot at Guide

It's been a bad year for NC. My condolences.

BTW, Lloyd posted some on here as Rmsyll. This really is very sad news.

Lloyd will be missed. I hate thinking that he was alone when he fell, and I really hope he did not suffer. He was literally the first climber i met outside, as i'm sure he was for many of us nc climbers. RIP
