Hi, I have an old Petzl Gourou harness and it was/is such a comfortable harness. It's 20 years old and still in perfect condition, but obviously needs to be replaced just due to age. None of the harnesses I have tried on feel anywhere near as padded and comfortable as my Gourou. Any suggestions? I'm looking for a fully adjustable harness with lots of padding and preferably one that adjusts from both sides to tighten around the waist. I like the feeling of symmetry and hate how a harness seems to feel un-centered if it is only tightened from the one side. Thanks!

I just replaced my 10 year old Misty Mountains Cadillac with a Petzl Calidris. So far I'm very happy, but I'd be pushed to say there is much difference. Misty has 2 extra gear loops, but largely identical. If you go Misty, be sure to get the "quick adjust" buckles.

Petzl Corax if you wanna spend less Misty Mountain Cadillac if you can spend more. I own both and both are comfortable. The Caddy is more comfy.

My husband has the Corax, and while it was the most padded of the harnesses that they had at MEC, he does not find it very comfortable. I will check out the other two.

I don't find my MM Cadillac very cushy. It has a wide hip belt but the padding is thin.

The Misty Mountain is out. With the exchange and the shipping costs, it is just waaay too much money!

Cadillac or Turbo. I've had both, for all around the Turbo is amazing. The Cadillac is comfortable and versatile

Edelrid Orion is very comfortable, and not very heavy. It's my everyday rock harness.

Cassin Warden. Hands down. Light for what it is, comfy, and not cumbersome in the least bit for free climbing. I also own the Edelrid Orion and it is very comfortable, but is bested by the Warden...I have a very bad back so comfort/support is king for me.

The Warden is indeed a great harness, but it's a big wall version---heavy, not compressible, bulky. But awesome! The Edelrid Orion is the most comfortable harness I've ever owned. Very close second is the Cassin Laser CR is very nearly as comfortable, far lighter and more compressible. Great options!
