Last year I pulled off a large rock at cochise. I was ok but the rock landed on my pack below and visibly bent two large camalots. Any ideas on who might benefit from testing these (one is old style #4, the other is a 3.5).

thanks,

Chris

Send them into BD, they'll probably test them. You can contact them first.

If not some of the rescue groups around you might be curious and have the equipment to do a test.

If you totaled your car would you send it to someone to test it? Maybe someone would test them for fun. But...

If they don't pass a visual inspection they are junk. Buy some new ones.

I have a destructive-testing rig and the ability to test your cam. However, if the lobes are bent the cam would need to be tested passively, in which I suspect the bent lobes wont really affect the strength. But of course the only way to know for sure is to test it.
