Seasonal Raptor Closures MORE INFO >>>

Description

On the water polished block that sits about 30 yards in the downstream direction from Punani, start matched in a hueco and lead with your heel to gain a right hand sidepull (big reach) before blasting out the finish.

A lowball, but pretty good stone for CWood standards.

Protection

Couple pads to fill in the depression.

IF this is the route I'm thinking of, this is not a V8. Not even close. Is it on a flat section of the rock about 100 feet away from Berthoud Cave?

Uh, these 2 areas are just about as far apart as you could get in this canyon. If you were at the Berthoud Cave, you would have to hike at least 30 minutes to get to where this problem is.

Well Then where is it? The only place that I can think is 30 minutes away from Berthoud is Grocery Store Wall, Fountainbleu Boulders, etc. Is it by Sea World... is it even in the east rim? I think I have a picture, I'll put up later so you can see what route I'm talking about.

Castlewood is a capital L-shaped canyon. Punani is up at the top of the L at the North part, down by the creek. The Berthoud Cave is up in the Inner Canyon, which is the horizontal part of the L and way South. To find Punani and this problem, you have to enter the North Entrance to the park, and park at the Lucas Homestead lot/trail and then follow that trail down to the bridge, and then follow the directions listed here.

Hey, Mharon - here is a link to the major bouldering areas in Castlewood that I have put together: www.mountainproject.com/v/colorado/denver_south/castlewood_c>>>

This should help with any confusion as Berthoud/Buddha is the place you are referring to in your first comment and Punani is way north of that area.

Hopefully this helps.
