| Sounds similar to what happened a few years back. I have never been on that trail, since most signs say it is closed due to erosion. I know that it is steep, and has a few spots where there are short drop-offs of the trail. It is the trail that runs right next to Middle Finger Wall. If you are facing Gumbies Roof, you turn around and head down the hill to the main trail that comes up the North Side. The last time it happened, a hiker filled out a climbing waiver, so they chalked it up as a climbing accident. Even though the hiker had no typical climbing gear, shoes, chalk, harness, etc... I am wondering if this is the same thing. The amount of inexperienced hikers that go up there is staggering. So I am not surprised at all. With the amount of things that have been thrown down at me by hikers, it is hard to care. | FLAG |
